Preparing Maya model for 3D printing, freezing transform reverts scale to 1

Hi,

(edited)

This post was solved incase anyone's interested.

The measurement tool in Maya answered my problems.

Anyway, I hope that helps anyone else starting out with Maya to 3d printing too.

Soon I'll be attempting to 3D print an object modelled in Maya for the first time. I converted the scale settings from cm to mm and scaled my object up to 38mm for printing.

I deleted the object's history and froze its transforms, really out of habit. That process reset the object's scale to 1mm.

I tried to modify> reset transforms but the object is still 1mm in scale.

Even though the object is clearly scaled up in my viewport I'm wondering when the OBJ is exported for printing whether the exported OBJ will be 1mm or the 38mm? My guess is 1mm, and so I will need to scale it up again so that the scale in the Channel Box reads 38mm? I guess I'll find out when the 3D printer arrives but I was hoping for any insight from someone experienced in scaling objects for 3D printing.

Thanks for your time

Chris

no worries it will still export as 38mm.
