This has been driving me insane! I have been using quad draw to retopologize my model and after I am finished I check for ngons with cleanup under mesh window and it says that I do not have any ngons. So I create my UVs for the retopologized model and after I have created all of my UVs, I check again for ngons with the cleanup window and it says that I have a ton of faces with more than 4-sides. Here's the catch, they are legit only 4-sided faces. I even tried importing them into zbrush (since zbrush doesn't allow ngons without an error message), nothing, no warning or error message, so zbrush knows the truth clearly, but Maya seems to think that my 4-sided faces are ngons. So I delete the "ngons" and do quad draw again and recreate my uv's and out of nowhere, faces that it previously said were fine are now miraculously ngons. I have been playing this game with maya for days now. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling to see if maybe it was a glitch. I seriously dont want to have to start over from scratch, I would lose weeks worth of work. Any idea why on earth maya is doing this?
