Hey! I had this a few times also and this is how I continued to work:

Try this:
I created a new persp camera and used that for my persp view. Snapping worked in the new camera view.
I fixed another model by moving back to the origin. It was exported from unreal and was about 3000cm from the origin. Moving it back to the origin fixed it.

Have the same problem!
Snapping pivot now working!
If you have just one object in scene it not snap.
If you have some objects behind the selected object, the pivot snapping to them but not to selected one.

Hello
same problem here, when an object little far from the origin, just the snap edge works and not snap point. It is very irritating... Please fix that problem that did not exist in previous versions of Maya. This fonction is used daily et c'est insupportable.

Hi,

There is a similar issue logged for 2022.2 / 2022.3:

MAYA-114671 Point snapping pivot to multiple meshes is broken

I would suggest downgradiung to 2022.1 to see if that fixes the issue.

Freezing transforms on the object is the current work around that I use. Not ideal, but it works!

Hey guys, I am having problems with the pivot snapping to vertex as well. I tried creating new perspective camera and that was a no go. I am trying to change the pivot point of an object(cube) to go from its center to it corner. i hit insert to move it to its vertex (V) but as i do the manipulator goes crazy snapping to every objects vertex in the scene other than the selected object. I just installed maya 2022 with its update.

Get back to Maya 2019... It will solve your problem. It is a known bug but not solved in Maya 2022. It drives me crazy xD

Freeze transforms on your object. Also I found if you are in 'isolate-select' view it can occasionally cause problems with the snapping.

I have no issue like that with Maya 2022.3
But reset the preferences can solve that too

I am on Maya 2023 and am not ok 😞  I'm still having this same problem. I've tried deleting prefs, making a new camera, freezing transforms and I still cannot seem to snap to verts.  Will there be a 2023.1 update/fix soon?

Yeah I am still getting this in 2023 too. But freezing transforms generally fixes it for me! There are also other snapping issues in isolated view... but thats for another post :S

Make sure when you freeze transforms your settings are freezing 'Translate', 'Roate' and 'Scale' 🙂

UPDATE: I've upgraded to 2023.1, and I can now snap verts as expected. Thank you Autodesk for fixing!
IF you are on Maya 2023 with the same vert snapping issue and also on a Mac, then try upgrading to 2023.1, it works now for me.

I have 2023.2 and the issue still exists!!! How is this? In 2019 I used vertex snapping ALL the time. I upgrade and suddenly everything is broken. Seriously Autodesk- you charge a premium for your software... a high premium-  especially when basic functionality falls by the wayside. Looking at when this thread started, you guys have had over a year to fix this obviously broken function. So I guess I'm going to have to go back about 3 versions just to get a basic tool working again. Not a good look for a company that forces you into a subscription license then rolls out inferior updates.

Easy change to 3ds max as I did
and use Maya only for UV mapping for game developers
