Need advice on modeling a complex Mediterranean mansion roof

I am in the middle of modeling this Mediterranean mansion and I am stumped on this roof. I've tried making it as one piece and moving the vertices and using the create edge loop tool and the cut faces tool but could not make it work. I've tried making it as separate pieces but I still cannot wrap my brain around how to get this shape. I do not have a flat top view only a perspective, front, back, left, and right view. Please any tips or suggestions are greatly needed.

Hi Tiffany , I would model one clay tile , them make all the copies I need for one of the facades , place them all nicely , then duplicate for the other sections of the roof, you can use the multi cut tool to slice all the clay tiles in on section to get the right angle cut where a roof line meets another one... That's one way.... Some areas will be more tricky though

We’ve done a lot of these of these roofs over the years. It’s a pretty popular production-build design here in Northern California – usually all marketed under the same names like “The Madrid” or “The Tuscany”. Generally speaking, these roofs are quick and easy to model. 

Where are you struggling specifically; what part of this design is presenting the biggest challenge for you? It looks pretty straight-forward in your pictures. 3 upper roofs to model (by Footprint) at 3 different plate heights. 2 of those roofs intersect with one another, and the polygonal-shaped entry roof remains separate. And, since there are hips in all directions; eaves should line up nicely on the first go-around.  

If you want to post an rfa with the exterior and interior bearing walls, and datum elements – or an Architectural Roof Plan – I’ll put a roof on it.

I agree with damaggio but if you are struggling with the overall shape then break it down into smaller shapes. A simple roof shape duplicated and arranged will give you the overall shape then from there you can build your final model. I had a quick go and attached a screen.

There are many ways of approaching this, hope this helps!
