How can I move one object in the middle of a selection of another object?

For instance. Move a fountain object precisely between two columns

i know only about the cluster method. Is there a better way?

Cluster method: Select the faces of the two columns and create a cluster. The cluster will be automatically be placed between those two selections. Then vert snap fountain to cluster.

You could constrain the object to both items, and set their influence on the object to .5 each. That'd pull it between them. Not sure that's faster than your cluster method, though.

Thank you for that. I didn't think I could do that but you're right is not really a faster method or when the selection gets more complicated.
