Modelling bicycle fork - beginner help?

I just started working with Maya a couple hours ago and wanted to create a bicycle. But I'm stuck on how to create the front fork for the wheels to fit in. I need to bend the existing cylinder to the left and place one on the other side and bend this one to the right but I cannot find out how to bend this cylinder in specific areas.

I'm sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm just starting. Hopefully someone can explain me how to do this step by step. Running Maya Autodesk 2016 btw

Thank you!

I would cut your front cylinder a bit above its shown pivot point. Then create fork this with a curve extrusion, a bit like this:

then duplicate it to the other side, combine/boolean and cleanup geometry as needed.
