Maya model deformation

I'm new at modeling,and I have a problem. When I try to pull the joints, then there is a similar deformation of the character's body. Does anyone know what is it?rot.png

The deformation caused is not a modelling issue. This is usually caused when the rigging and skinning is not done properly. In this particular case I think there could be two possible reasons:

 

  1. The body weight is not painted properly. You can correct it by using “paint skin weight tool”, which helps us to tell the software which bone should impact which body part of the Character.
  2. Deformation can also be caused if one tries to pull the bones of the Chest of the character. These bones have only the rotational functionality embedded in them and cannot be pulled.
