So, I'm in an animation class and we're supposed to be using Maya. I have some basic knowledge of the program, enough to get the assignments I need to be done, though I was using blender while I was home for the past few weeks as I'm much more familiar with the program and my home PC just doesn't like running Maya unless I uninstall everything else. I saved my blender file as a .obj so that it could be used in Maya, allowing me to work on it here at school, however, Maya keeps adding a bunch of random faces and geometry to my model that was never there in the first place and its confusing and frustrating me. In some places, the model is completely fine, apart from the weird lighting that happens when I have thin parts, but on the head, some areas of the wings, and in some of the lower torso, there are faces that were extruded weirdly or just duplicated and offset some.
Attached below are some examples of what I'm talking about. It keeps taking some parts of the model and duplicating them as I said earlier. I don't have any current screenshots of it in blender but I'll definitely get some once I'm home. I'll also see what happens when I import the .obj into blender again and see if it's the file itself that's the problem.Eye, eye ridge, nose, and ear polygons duplicated
Upper torso polygons duped and phasing through one another
An entirely new surface that was added to one of the wings
More duplication on the lower torso
