Hi ! so i ve been having trouble of boolean clipping in maya.

i ve been trying to follow blender guru tutorial to make a house in blender and i was just trying it out to make

the similar test in maya out of curiosity.

here he clipped out the walls that going through the roofs using boolean intersection but in maya this function isnt working . instead i got the mesh intersected inside no matter which object i selected first. any ideas?

Hi!

He does not clip only what's above the roof he is doing also a "simple" intersection.

"...cropping anything that's outside...)

You get the same result when using Booleans in Maya.

That's why he later scales the house, to make sure the new wall is inside and the intersection works as intended.

If you have a base house model as shown in the video and the walls object is partially inside you get with Booleans -> Intersection the same result in Maya as shown in the video.
