As shown in-depth in the video below, Attempting to use the hotkey Shif+W to make an extrusion on a face does not allow me to create an extrusion. despite the hotkey stating that the extrusion it active, Maya acts as if it's not. Pressing the extrude button then pressing W yields similar results, in which maya acts as if the extrusion never even happened in the first place. Finally, when using the extrusion tool's archaic manipulators, any attempts to edit the faces of the newly formed extruded geometry causes all attached faces to retain their shape and be pulled around with the face, rather than just the face being edited. All help would be appreciated to fixing this issue.
