Hi!

You can't change this (it's not a mesh, instead it's some sort of proxy preview for Paint Effects). You only get full detail when rendering with Maya Software Renderer.

(Maybe use a brush from ...mesh, better for converting to Polygons.)

so what if i want to render it with arnold. if there are no options for the display preview then where is the option for the render preview to change subdivisions and make it roundish? its already converted to polygons

Hi!

There is no option*. You have to do this manually if you want more detail

*Sometimes converting to Nurbs first can help, especially for the trunk.

It seems like i accidentally found the way how to do this. I added my trees to the mash network and mash network has Repro Mesh Shape tab and there are Smooth Mesh options. So now my trees roundish in the viewport as well as in arnold render. Is this is the best way to do it?

Hi!

Sure, you can add Mesh -> Smooth to any polygon object (you don't need MASH for this) and you can use this on trunk or leaves only (if separate objects).

This works of course only after conversion to a polygon object.
