How to find out instance or duplicate?

Hi, I was just wondering about how to find out if an object is a duplicate or instance of another object. Any ideas?

You can name the instances "Copies" , you can also color them in the Outliner.

If you turn on "shapes" in your Outliners "Display" menu and expand the objects. You'll see that instances are linked to the same shape node, while copies have their own shape node.
