Faces don't confront to a live surface

I am making an Audi R8. I made the rim of the Exhaustion holes and now I turned the bumper to a live surface so I can snap the Rim to it. The pivot of the "rim" does snap, but the rim consists of 24 faces and I also have 24 faces at the place where I want to put my rim. But in my case, the pivot does snap to the surface but the faces don't confront to the surface. They remain flat as they were.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

you have to be in component mode (vertices i.e.) for it to work like you want.
