Extrude along curve rotates the profile

Hello there! I stumbled upon the problem with simple extrusion along the curve path. For some reason, it starts to rotate the profile along the way and I have no idea how to turn it off. Also if I move any curve point the whole shape starts to rotate. The same twisting I get with extruding as a surface or sweep mesh. Any ideas?

And yes, I created the desirable result just for example and without any curves, but I did it only because of the simple shape, for more complicated paths I'll need the curves.

After the extrude, you could try changing the twist value. I had some luck with increasing this all the way to 180. It did make the end result a bit more consistent but perhaps still not as level as perhaps you are hoping for.

Another - better option would be using sweep mesh as you did try. But expand the options down to advanced and turn off "auto roll" (screenshot). But adjusting some settings I was able to match your happy-face version

Hello! Thanks a lot! I can't believe I've missed this advanced option!
