Duplicate geometry with controllers

Duplicate geometry with controllers

Hi

I tried to duplicate an eye from a rig with its controller using the classic method of shift+drag or edit-> duplicate.

I got a clone of the object with its controller, however the controller is not working. Seems, like the curve is disconnected from the mesh and cannot move, scale or rotate it.

Is there an alternative efficient method to duplicate the eye, having its controller functional?

Thanks

You'd have to reference/ instance the entire rig/ mesh etc.

need to make sure you have history and other connections in tact.

There's an option in Duplicate to also duplicate upstream graph.  That will duplicate everything, and I do mean "everything" required to make the eye function as the original.  That means all nodes in the hierarchy above the controller.  You'll have a functional eye but you'll also need to clean up the resulting nodes.  Unless that doesn't matter.
