Constrained snap to live surface.

Trying to find a tool or script that will snap selected vertices to a live mesh, but constrain their movement in only one directions (Y).

Anyone know of a built in tool or available script that does this? I've tried using Conform along normals, with all vertex normals facing straight up, but that was unreliable. Trying to snap using the move tool while constrained to Y, vertices will still slide along the surface in x and z.

Any help would be appreciated. Feels like this should be possible with built in tools, but have hit a wall with existing tooling and scripting knowledge.

Hi. So you've got something like one plane on top of another. Bottom plane is Live. You want to snap the verts of the plane above to the Live one's below?

Yes. Used the built in Shrink Wrap deformer that worked well.
