Black Shading When in use Append to polygon Tool

There is this weird black shade on the model when i use append to polygon tool to fill up the holes in the model. Can anyone please tell me why is that black share coming, Or is it a bug or something?

This looks like a problem with Normals.

Try in main menu:

Mesh Display ->  Harden Edge
