Avoid selecting backfaces?

Avoid selecting backfaces?

When selecting polygons or verts with a box selection, the front faces and the back facing components are both selected. How is it possible to select just the front facing components and avoid selecting the backfacing ones? I notices this works by default with paint selection. Any way to do it with the selection tool?

One year ago, tho still pops up in search. Here it goes:
Set Camera Based Selection to "on" our "auto". You can acces it from Modeling Toolkit window or from double click on selection tool under Common Selection Options).

PS You don't have to cull backfaces in display just for selection. If you want though, I find  Display>Polygons>Backface Culling not working sometimes. Try Shift+RPM>Polygon Display>Backface Culling – this one should work.

By far the best answer for not selecting faces or vertices you don't want, (hidden on the backside.) Why does backface culling even exist if it doesn't work?

defo not the best tool to do that but still is a workaround among all other native maya solutions.
