i tried to transfer animation to new UV fixed geometry.
Geo itself is same, just change UV.
then I tried to apply wrap tool to transfer animation.
It was work to simple geo, but if i apply it on hiresolution geo, like chain.
maya clush and I can't apply it.
Do someone know anothere way to how to transfer animation?

I get animated geometry from FX artist.
This animation change the box shape by strong smash.
I need to apply texture and shading, rendering.
But This UV are moving during animation and each flame have different shape UV.
I can't apply texture in this condition.
Do someone know ow to transfer UV to other flame on same geometry?
or Just how to keep same UV without change anything?
I have no idea about FX so if someone know about it, I need help.
It could be fx forum have an answer so just in ase, I gonna ask it in FX forum.

Hi!
The Wrap Tool is not an Animation transfer tool, so this may not work with complex animations, what type of animation do you use?
Why do you try to transfer animation and not transfer UV's instead?
Also please be more specific about your problem, for example show some screenshots or upload the scene-file.
Hi mspeer
This is what I want to transfer the animation.
This chain is come from FX artist. He apply FX based animation. and export it by Alembic file. ( so it looks I can't see the keyflame.)
so I just open it and this geo UV is not good so I fixed it. but If I change UV, and when I change the flame, UV also start animation.
that's why I couldn't apply texture.
this thing happen at other geometry., in that time, I prepare one mesh which has good UV, and apply wrap animation on UVed geo. then ploblem are fixed. But this chain is realy complex and animation is complex as well/ wrap tool does'nt work.
So I'm looking for another method to transfer animation to same shape geometry on UV fixed geo.
Ploblem is
. When I touch FX animated geo UV, saddinly UV start animation and can't apply texture. > I want to keep same shape UV or just stop UV animation.
.I couldn't stop UV animation, so I made UV fixed geo and transfer animation on the geo. That was work on other simple geo.
But This chain geo is complex and wrap tool does;nt work. so I'm looking for another way to transfer animation.
If you have a something suggestion, I really want to know.
I want avoid to pass it back to FX artist to re animate.

Hi!
Double post, go here:

I can't upload ma/mb file and alembic file...
When I export it as a FBX it looks animation disappear...
Hi!
My advice: Stop loosing hours by trying to re-create an alembic cache animation when the original file is available.
In the original scene changing UV's should be a matter of seconds or minutes and then it's just 1 click to export the animation again.
Also if there will be a correction to the chain-animation or a second scene from the FX-Artist, you will have to do your corrections all again, instead of just loading the cache file.
The FX-Artist should correct the UV's and send you a new "ready to use" cache file, he even should have access to a single chain-element before repetition, you not.
There are of course other solution to create or re-create UV's for an Alembic Cache, but i don't know an easy one for you.
Thank you to advise me.
yeah best solution is just ask FX artist to redo it by pass UV fixed geo. I think it s safety way.
Now I'm looking for
how to lock UV
or
how to copy UV to other flame.
I want to upload this geo in here but i can't upload ma/mb file and abc.. when i ecport FBX, animation was disapper even though I check all exporting settting.
This time, I should ask my co worker to redo FX animation.
Thank you
Do you think this high poly geo can transfer animation?
After try couple of animation transfer. and If these does'nt worj.
I gonna give up and ask FX team to redo it.
So If someone know couple of defferent kind of transfer animation. I really want to try.
Hi!
There is no tool in Maya 2017 (i am aware of) that can transfer an alembic cache animation to an other object.
It's hard to make the problem clear without teaching how alembic works or is handled in contrast to animations on objects inside Maya
(and this is also the problem you have with assigning UV's).
@mspeer is right unfortunately there is no tool to transfer the alembic cache animation. You can however transfer your UVs to the other object which fixes one of your issues. I'm still looking into this but let me know if anything changes.

but once I asked the FX team and we notice it is just FX team did wrong way to make data somehow and data get corrupt.
He did same thing again and quickly It was fixed.
Thank you guys to help me. Eventhough It isn't direct solution. I get a lot of new information about CG stuff.
