I can't pan in maya. I'm using a Pen Wacom Tablet and the middle click button doesn't work only in maya. My drivers are updated and I've reset my maya preferences. I can't seem to figure it out. I've tried using a friends Wacom Tablet as well and it doesn't work. Please Help!

It's evidently a driver issue. this guy fixed it by rolling back to an earlier version.

I tried an older version of the driver just now and it still doesn't work.

Okay I got it. I used the Wacom Utility and completely wiped it from my computer and reinstalled the latest driver. It's working fine now.

I am having the same issue. I have reinstalled the latest, but I am still unable to pan. Wacom says that this is a Autodesk issue, because they had me use the pan/scroll (which was assigned in the preference to the top click on my pen) in Microsoft and Adobe. However it does not work in Maya 2016 or Mudbox 2016.

Can anyone help? It's REALLY hard using Maya when I have to put the pen tool down to do one function and then switch to the mouse to pan and back to the pen to zoom and rotate.

This is the Second Thread I have found on this issue over the last three months.

I have been working on this issue since May, and Wacom has determined that it isn't their problem.

I have used the Wacom Utility to wipe all prior installations of the Wacom Tablets from my computer, and then re-installed drivers dating back to 2014, and none of them work with Maya/Mudbox 2016.

I did re-install Maya/Mudbox 2014, and the issue disappeared (The problem with the alt+MMB disappeared). I have not checked Maya/Mudbox 2015 (because I don't have a copy of either to install).

And, I have no problem with the MMB on any of the following Apps:

• Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator (pre-CC versions), as well as Adobe CC
• ZBrush
• Smith Micro Manga Studio, Anime Studio.
• Poser 10, and Poser Pro 10

• ViaCAD
• AutoCAD

I know this thread is somewhat old but for those still having this issue after removing Wacom drivers with the remove utility and reinstalling with fresh installs (regardless if they are old or current drivers) please reset Maya preferences to default and that should take care of the issue.

This is a pain as far as losing preferences but if you rename your prefs folder to prefs.old you can slowly put back things that were working like hotkeys and shelves, etc. after Maya creates a new prefs folder.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Reset-May...

You could also try just deleting userPrefs.mel within the prefs folder and not risk losing all the hotkeys, shelves and etc.

Had these issues after upgrading to Mac Os Sierra with Maya 2015. Couldn't pan but all other functions worked. This fixed the issue.

Deleting the Wacom driver magically makes the MMB work in Maya on OS 10.12.3 (Apple must have some built in driver that allows the pen and tablet to work but there are no preferences). Anyway, this tells me that it's Wacom's problem.

I tried using an older driver, deleting and reinstalling, and even wiping the preferences for Maya as suggested above and none of those things worked. It's EXTREMELY frustrating that this doesn't work.

It WAS finally working again on the previous driver (which is now not available on the drivers download page; only the driver BEFORE the one that worked). It was broken for over a year. I spoke to someone at Wacom and explained that it was most definitely their problem, as I could back track to a previous driver and it worked perfectly for Maya MMB camera tracking. Then, like an idiot I assumed the newest driver would also still work as they'd somehow fixed it. Today, I launched maya to find that we are right back where we started. AAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!! When I went to download the previous driver from Wacom, it wasn't there. Only the driver BEFORE the one that fixed it. I'm so pissed off right now and MMB doesn't work once more.

I have been having this issue with my wacom pen on 2 different tablet versions. I tried removing preferences and drivers then reinstalling to no avail. The solution I found that seems to work so far(may be a fluke) is instead of selecting "CLICKS" goto "MODIFIER" and select the "middle" option under clicks in that window that pops up. there may be a slight delay but it seems to work.

I have figured out the solution after YEARS of this problem. Just delete all preferences for pen and the driver.
Install the last from current driver. Then use wacom’s desktop center app to update the driver moving forward.
problem solved permanently for me and I’ve updated using the app 4 times now.
