Which year of maya software should i learn

Hey guys as I am curious about learning maya and I really want to learn maya so please tell me wich year of maya version should I use

Start with the newest, because it needs some time (years) to learn Maya.

You don't want to finish learning and detect that you use a completely outdated Software Version.

Although this is a preference for some, I try to keep updated on the current versions of Maya (2017, 2018) Having started with Maya 2014 and updating every year to keep current with the improved and updated tools. That said, I would pick a newer version such as 2017 or 2018 and get good skillset with one before updating versions.
