We need T-Spline!

I'm sure that many people who have worked with T-Splines, would agree that it's the best thing for modeling since sliced bread.
I know that at some point there was a T-Spline plugin for Maya but it seems like it has vanished and been discontinued. (the release page is from 2005 and links to dead pages)
Are there any plans to make T-Splines more readily available for packages other than CAD (F360, Rhino) so that we can create great looking, smooth models and convert them to beautiful quad meshes?
