UV planar mapping and transparency

New to maya here and also my screenshot is not working properly so sorry for the fuzzy photos,
but I've applied an animated texture that is also UV mapped, i am trying to figure out how to change the transparency so that I am able to see the bottom frame when rendered. In the Maya view render everything looks okay, but then when I save the image or render a sequence, it comes out dark. I have been told that the the ramps use a gradient ramp to fade out as they extend outward. The UV maps are applied from the top, so i need to adjust the transparency rotation value, but I have no idea how to do this...
