Texture Projection Exporting and flipping textured objects

Hello,
I am new to 3d Modeling, recently I built this aircraft based of various videos I have watched online, however, now I have made half of it, it would be really easy just to flip the object and put both pieces together. However, I am having some issues with how I Textured the plane. I used texture projection because it seemed much easier than all the other UV mapping stuff I saw online (and I didn't really understand it). Now when I try to duplicate the model and flip the plane, the textures are still based on the BBox from the original object. Also exporting comes up with an error, and when I try to "Convert to file Texture", it just textures that texture on the whole object.
If anyone has any suggestions they would be welcome.
