Smoothing problems with export from Maya to Unity

Hi there, I'm having trouble exporting my 3d model from Maya 2015 to Unity.

The problem is that my model has a smooth shading on and when I export it to Unity it just looks like a square block. With this I mean when I've created my model it has sharp edges and when I was making it I pressed 3 to get the model to be smoothed.

Now when I export it to Unity it just goes back to the original state without the smoothing.

How can I export the model with smoothed edges to Unity?

Unity does not support subdivision...you need to do a real smooth in Maya then inport into unity
