Hi there! I've been having this weird issue in Maya 2023. I am new to Maya so this hasn't happened before.
When I try to use the smooth sculpt tool, it won't let me affect the model, it just keeps making the dotted rectangle to show I am selecting something, even though I have the tool selected. I changed the size of the brush to below 0.1, reset the tool, deleted preferences, restarted Maya and to no avail. I have attached an image of the brush and scene just in case. It seems to be only this mesh that is affected by this weird glitch. I have tried deleting history and freezing transforms on the mesh as well.
