Sculpt brush (Grab) viewport artifacts (maya 2020)

Hello all,

Recently updated to maya 2020 and having issues with the Grab brush creating artifacts on the mesh. It is only the normals that are being affected as a display thing, mesh is fine once you release the brush. All other brushes are not affected, just "Grab". I reset the presets and started from maya default and still no luck.

Anyone ideas what could it be? It is fine on maya 2019.2 tho.

Hi Marko - I see this in 2020 as well. The internal Autodesk bug # is MAYA-102676. Thanks for reporting!

locking the normals will fix that issue you can use it till they fix it in the future updates

Hello,

 

I have an issue of disappearing faces when using the Grab tool and holding down Ctrl. This issue is probably related to the display artifacts, because both issues appear together if a mesh contains triangles. 

To reproduce try the following: create a cube with enough divisions to sculpt. Try using the Grab tool, holding down Ctrl. Everything should work fine so far. Split a face into two triangles with the Cut tool. Delete history. Now try using the Grab tool again. This time both issues will appear, the display artifacts and disappearing faces when holding down Ctrl.
