Save Error - Transformation Issues?

Hello all, 

Unfortunately I have lost a couple of hours of work due to errors in the saving process. It seems something funny happened with the transformation values. I performed the "Increment and Save" function at least twice, but it must have been corrupted from the beginning. Before I saved my file everything looked fine and I had deleted the history on all objects. See screenshots attached. 

I was hoping someone could help me with two question: 

1) Is there any way to recover from this error? 
2) How do I avoid this issue in the future?
