Random edges staying separate from the rest of my UV shell?

So I'm making my UV layout and I was cutting some seams and I was trying to make the main body into four parts, but for some reason the front and back half weren't separating. Turns out these 3 random edges have separated themselves from the rest of the UV shells? I was fixing this model with bad geometry and had to merge the vertexes on these particular edges so I wonder if that had something to do with it?

I'm not the best 3d modeler so any help would be nice!

Are you sure those are edges, not faces? Click (not marquee-drag) each of its uvs and try to move sideaways. Faces you know how to fix.

Otherwise go Mesh>Cleanup. Also, in the uvEd there in the Layout command is an option to fix non-manifolds.
