"J" Hotkey for translate snap etc. not working

Hey! 

I change the default "J" hotkey to "A" like it is in 3dsmax. First it worked perfectly. while holding the button it was snap rotating for example. 

After a while it stopped working while holding, its litarly toggeling it on and off by pressing the button now.

Is there a way to get back the original function? Maybe via a custom script if thats possible.

turn off or disable the keyboard shortcuts for hold A, which it is used for a marking menu:

by default J is invert step snap for move rotate scale tools we can change J to what we want

thanks for your answer. 
I have nothing on "A". But now I also saw you have two things to select to be probably able to use stapsnap correctly. I can only see that. With this its only working via clicking to turn it on and off instead of holding.

I am also not able to give use the default B hotkey for softselect anymore. Also because I tried to replace it. Now I am only able to give "Press" or "Release" the hotkey B., not both at the same time. Any way to get it back?
