Problem with Xgen

Hi everyone, 

I am a noob in Xgen but I wish to make something like the Nightwraith's hair in Witcher 3. 

I have watched several online tutorials and made something like these, but it just felt off.
First version I tried to groom the hair as it's already floating on the air, 

The second version I tried to groom it in a idle status. Then use dynamic to make it float.

But, I wanted to know what are the method are best making these kind of hair.
