Hi guys,

when im modeling i use the extrude tool very often, but this cause me also problems very often. I have no idea how but i somehow always have double edges laying straight underneath, and because i dont see this in viewport most of the time i carry on this problems and only detect them when im like extruding the arms anything like that bc some edges are acting weird...does someome encounter this problem too and has an idea for a way to not realise after like 20 minutes of modeling that i need to redo my scene bc i cant figure where my prob occured the first time..happened to me 3 times in a row and im getting frustrated...

greetings Leon

The only time that seems to happen to me is if I select polygons to extrude, click on the extrude tool, and then change my mind and just deactivate the tool without having moved the selected polygon(s) or undoing the extrusion.

Instead of starting your mesh over again when you end up with extra geometry, try using the cleanup tool under the Mesh menu. Also, you may want to work with the heads up display->polycount turned on. Note that if you select a 4-sided polygon and hit the extrude tool, the face count should increase by 4, even before you have moved the selected polygons out.
