Polygon creation to exact sizes

Hi!

I work a lot with my 3D printer and I do not have CAD or Solidworks.

How do I make a simple object to the exact measurements I need straight away?

Let's say I need to make a cylinder at 12.43mm X 32.84mm. I expect to be able to do this by changing the settings measurements to millimeters and then punching in the measurements in the polygon creation tool settings box and then simply clicking on the grid.  But this doesn't work even though the polygon sizes are correct in the side panel

I have to make the object, then get out the measurement tool, and adjust each piece to the measurement tool.  kind of annoying because it takes more time and I end up having tons of measurement tools I have to delete.

Maya is not the right tool for that. Its made for vfx.
You could use the measurement tools but you wont get appy working like that in maya.

I guess you're right.  I am a 3D Designer VFX artist for 17 years so now I guess I have to learn how to use solidworks! UGH

Thank you
