First of all guys I'm sorry if this is not in the right category but I couldn't find a better one to put it in. The main problem I'm currently having is exporting my scene as a .obj file. There are multiple objects in this file and when I export my file and open it up in another application like Blender, some random parts of my file seem to disappear and I don't know what is causing them to disappear. This does not seem to be a problem with blender reading my file because I have opened the file with other problems and the same problem occurs, meaning the problem probably lies in Maya. Now I know for sure that one reason objects disappear from the obj file format is when faces have more then 4 vertices on them. However, this doesn't seem to be the only case because I have a rectangular shaped face cut in half (consists of a total of 6 vertices) that is for some reason disappearing. I also deleted some grouping and the history of some objects and that made some objects suddenly appear in the obj format but not all of them. I looked on the exporting page for Maya to see if it had any answers but the only thing I saw was that an obj file couldn't have more than 100 thousand polygons in it, and my scene is contains only about 1500... Here are some pictures of things that disappear.
The original rectangular face in Maya.
and in Blender...
as you can see it isn't there....
Here is my scene in Maya as a whole
and here it is in Blender
As you can see some rooms that I have started making have completely disappeared and I don't know why
.
One more question, is there anyway I can export the textures of my mesh? In the export options I have materials clicked "on" so I thought that would have exported the current materials I have attached to things in Maya....
Thanks for the help in advance!
