Object scaling and pivot point

Hello,

When i delete history by all type my scale x,y,z of my object doesn't reset to 1.

It stays at 100 scale.

I also have some difficulty with the pivot.

Is there anything in Maya where i can precisely rotate the pivot point?

I want the x axes of the pivot to point at the front of the house.

Also, the moment i rotate the pivot point to the front of the house, and rotate my object, the pivot will not rotate with the object.

It does rotate, when i don't adjust my pivot point.

If i center the pivot point or bake it goes back to it's original position.

Hi,

Modify > Freeze Transformations can be used to bake the scaling into the geometry and return it to 1.

To aim the pivot first select the house and then select the object you want to modify. Press D to edit the pivot and then hold Shift+Ctrl and click on the component of the house you wish to aim at.

Note that the pivot orientation is using the custom axis orientation functionality of the the move/rotate/scale tool. It is not an actual attribute on your object (like pivot position) which is why it does not update when the object is rotated.

However, you can change your object's orientation to match a custom pivot using Modify > Bake Pivot. To do this (after say aiming as described above) first select the object whose pivot you wish to bake. Next, switch to custom axis orientation mode (from the Tool Options or Modeling Toolkit Panel) and then do Modify > Bake Pivot. The object's rotation will be changed to match the custom orientation so it will rotate with the object.
