Moving, Rotating, Scaling acting wierd

Greetings,

I'm pretty new to Maya software (to be more precise, I started using it yesterday), and I have some problems with rotating, scaling and moving tools, I came from Blender 2.8, and then if I want to move face, I just select it and move it, but here face doesn't move, I tried to follow this tutorial on YouTube, but when that guys start to edit shape of sphere, everything works, but when I tried it, doesn't work like that, here is the screenshot of my attempt of moving faces just like he did. To me, it seems like the only way to move faces/edges is to extrude them.

(first two pictures show my result of moving it up on z-axis, and the last picture is the result of moving faces down on z-axis)

Video that I watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_GbI-au6v4

Regards,

Ivan D.

If you look closely, on your "Modelling toolkit" tab (right of the screen) you have selected the transorm contraint to be "edge", by doing that, Maya only moves, rotates or scales what you have selected along the edges. you should solve the issue by setting "transform contraint" to "off"
