Modeling toolkit while running DirectX issue

I've just switched over to running DirectX from OpenGL for Maya to drive the viewport 2.0 and I came accross an odd bug. It seems that while running in DirectX, I cannot select the transform gizmo to move components (verts, edges, faces).

I can select the "tweak" option and move everything fine, but cannot select the gizmo itself to move around or in between particular axes.

I can select the gizmo fine in the normal transform tool, but I've grown warm towards the modeling toolkit. Any ideas how to fix this? Huge monkey wrench in my workflow.

Cheers,

Clayton

Hi Clayton,

I think viewport 2.0 under DirectX can be a little quirky depending on your video card.  For example, I don't have the issue you are having, but I have a couple of others...I can't see bifrost voxels under DirectX, but I can under OpenGL.  Also, when I switch to DirectX and try to use the XGen "add or move guides" tool, the tool is not visible in the viewport.

(2013 Mac Pro with FirePro D700 running windows 8.1 in boot camp)

My workaround for these is to switch back to OpenGL. (Probably not what you wanted to hear...)

Thanks for the information. Geforce cards still support OpenGL though even though some of the optimization is crippled by Nvidia drivers to boost quadro sales, right?

I do not mind running in OpenGL as long as my GTX 970s that will be in my next build will be able to run effectively.

Cheers,

Clayton
