Modeling in real world scale

Hello friends!

So i've been searching and researching about modeling in real world scale and i just can't figure out grid numbers and i though you can help me.
So in my country we use metric system (meters, centimeters etc.) and Maya is also set to centimeters which is perfectly fine, and now question is if i set my Grid to:   Lenght and width to 100 / Grid lines every 10 / Subdivisions 1.

What dimension is for e.g. one little square?
Is it 1cm? Is it correct?

length and width just tell you how big the grid plane is in persp view. grid lines divided by subdivisions tells you the size of one square. so 10/1=10. if you want 1 unit or cm you will need grid lines every 1 unit and 1 subd. or every 10 units and 10 subd.

if you are unsure you can find out by creating a cube and put it to the dimensions you would like to have. or measure the grid by create > measure tools > distance tool and snapping the locators to the grid.
