Maya shows the border edge highlights where there is no border edge

Hi, I've set Maya to highlight any border edge so that I can see if I have any disconnected faces in my model but lately I realised I have an issue in a scene that I'm currently working on. It's showing a border edge where actually there isn't one, some geometries are quite basic, like a cube where I deleted one face or a cube with a bevel in all edges and the default 1 segment. I tried to see if there is any overlapping vertex or faces but no, the geometry it's clean and yet, it shows me the highlight, I even made sure that the selection it's not set to camera based, so when I marque select the vertex I'm selecting everything, still the same. I also tried to select click one vertex and move it, it's all connected.

Can't those be UV border edges?

Hi, and thanks for the reply, actually yes, they are. It never happened before to see the UV shell edge on geometry when the UV editor it's closed, and even my settings are set to show highlights only for border edges, no texture borders and crease edges, not sure how to stop showing them, any chance you know how? Any other places apart from the Polygons sections of the Preferences?

I just found the solution, I never thought the edge I was seeing was the texture edges because was set to off in the preferences and in the UV editor and didn't start yet to work in the actual UVs otherwise I would have realised, or at least I hope, I started going through the display menu and found how to hide those highlights. I select all the geometry in the scene, then Display>Polygons>Texture Border Edges, and that's it, all back to normal, still strange the reason why it started in the first place as I never go in that menu, but it's fine now.2021-02-27 19 07 49.png

I believe this is the switch Preferences>Display>Polygons>Highlight>TextureBorders yet it has no effect if I change it's state.

Still you can execute this:

ToggleTextureBorderDisplay();

.. or within the UV Editor>View>TextureBorders .. also a Hotkey 9

Thanks, but I finally found the solution and posted it above. As for the commands you mentioned, they affect the geometry only when the UV editor it's open. Thanks for the help.
