Maya Model Reference Images

I have had Maya 2017 for a few days and the main reason I downloaded it was to create 3D renderings of art images. But for some reason when ever I import a Front image into the Front box it works only until I import the side view, then it switches with the front view and the actual front image keeps going in and out(visually). Anybody have a solution? I wonder if it has anything to do with me not downloading Arnold? If that is the problem where would I go to download that desperately?

I tried to replicate exactly what you did in the video and it works fine, no problem here. It could be a problem related to the graphic card, what graphic card are you using ?

Thanks! And yea it was... since then I have installed 2016 version and it
works fine, however I will soon be getting a new system so that should
solve the problem! Ill post again if I am still having issues after
