Maya curve snapping to live object sucks

I need to snap curve points to the live object so that they all remain precisely on the top of the surface all the time and not one curve point under the surface another one point snapped to top of the surface the third one to the middle of the surface and so on.The problem becomes even more visible if you use after extrude object long the curve function like i did here

In Blender or in Zbrush you can mak it easy nd precisely by adjasting the distance of snapping to the surface or if you use shrinkwrap modifier but in Maya i cannot do this. Any help? Maybe i can do this with shrikwrap in Maya instead if life snapping doesnt work as expected.

Hi!

1. You need more details (vertex count) for a better result with Live Snapping and Shrink Wrap.

Curves -> Rebuild is handy for this.

2. Shrink Wrap has an Offset Attribute and for Live Snapping you could use a bigger (scaled duplicate) object as Live Surface.
