Joints Move When File is Referenced

I create a rig in a file and then reference it to paint skin weights. But in the skin file some of the joints move from the position they are in in the rig file. The translation information changes between the files, too. How can I fix it so that they stay in the place after the file is referenced?

If there are keys on the file you cant edit them if you dont use the setting in the prefs.

But this setting is dangerous. I recommend to clean your rig file. There should be no keys in it.

Some Studios have turned it on some off. But never ever have some animators turned it on and other dont.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I checked and there were no animation keys on the rig, so that wasn't the problem. I also tried remaking the joints, but the same thing happened. I ended up remaking them again, but this time I just left the names as joint1 and joint2 and that seems to have worked.

I'm having the same exact issue!  It's driving me crazy.

We are trying to reproduce this internally, but are not having much luck.  Would you be willing to share your rig?  Feel free to message me privately if you prefer not to post files here.
