Hi!

Main menu:

Create -> Free Image Plane

Please read the Maya Online Help / Documentation for more details, these are basic things that are very well described and can be found by searching within a few seconds.

It’s clear that we are not communicating effectively. I have researched this topic. What I am trying to do is take a drawing image, put it in maya, and build my character. I can’t figure out how to get that image in to do this.
Thank you,

Hi!

You can't put an image into Maya you only can load an image into a Maya scene (it will not be stored in the Maya file, only the location/link will be saved).

1. Copy/create/save an image onto harddisk.

2. Load image into Maya from this location

There is nothing more to do.

When I import it it is not the grid that I need to build the character it is more like a view port window.
