How to take reference front and side profile pictures for modeling

I wanted to know how to take a front picture of my face, then a picture of my side, so that everything lines up perfectly and I am able to import the photos into maya to use as references for making a model mesh of my head.

ive been trying to do this for a while with my front facing camera on my iPhone 10xr, but it’s very difficult to line up my features, and I’ve noticed my ears will be bigger in my side profile than my front. Is this due to my phone and the camera having a small fish eye effect?

Take the photo with zoom from a few feet away than line up the images in photoshop with guides.
