How to prevent "Layout" from changing Texel Density in UV Editor?

If I want to use the "Layout" button to layout my UV's, that I have already sized to where I need them, how do I prevent it from rescaling my UV?

I have my UV's sides with the proper Texel Density I need for my project. I just didn't want to have to drag each UV into place. I was hoping to just highlight the UV's I wanted, and use the Layout button to put them in the 1:1 map. But, it resizes the UVs and changes the Texel Density. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

I tried going into the Layout settings and turning on/off the preserve UV/3D Ratios, but it didn't help.

Also..

out of curiosity, is there way to auto layout UDIMs? This would make my life a lot easier. I predominately work with UDIMs, and it's very time consuming to place them all by hand.

- thank you.

Hello, Ref to attached video please.

1) Let's say I've changed the shells size to match my required tex.density and now want to lay them into (1,1) without scaling them.

2) Select all the uv's belonging to one Udim (for eg I'm keeping metal part of the sword in (1,1) )

3) Go to suboptions of layout and turn off Shell pre scaling and scale mode as well and hit apply that should do the job

4) If you want your shells in different Udim space (2,1 here) just go to transform and change offset value to 1.00000 and use chevrons to move them in desired space.

PS- you can also use tiles u and v from layout sub options to use more space like 2,2 i.e, udims

This really helped. I do wish there was just a way to layout the UDIMS all at once.

Also, please don't think I'm stupid, but what is a chevron?

Hi, I did all you´ve said before @roshanshilimkar3434 but it didn´t work at all.

The thing I couldn´t do was the distribution along the 4 UDIMS I set in the Layout settings. Is like it uses 1 leves of columns and I only want to use the rows.
