Freezing an object with a connection?

I'm trying out Maya 2015 and I want to freeze transformations even if there is a connection on the object.  When I try to freeze transformations with a connection I get this error:

// Error: line 0: Freeze Transform was not applied because ShapeA.scaleZ has incoming connection.

I don't understand why you just can't un connect it - Freeze the transform and reconnect it. If an object's transforms are being driven by another connection it can't alter the value.

I have tried this by breaking the connections, reconnecting them and even deleting history. I do not understand how my values went from all 0s to 90 degrees and random translations. I realized that my root joint was parented to the root ctrl curve in a way I could only rotate, not move up and down. So I unparented and parented it correctly. Once I re-parent, the z axis went to 90, and translations are weird. I cannot freeze transforms and have tried EVERYTHING. Why did this even happen in the first place and why is this seemingly impossible to fix? I have never experienced this and I have a deadline. Please help.

Also I have tried parented it using the constrain menu with maintain offsets even though my joint is perfectly aligned. I have tried with detached skin. I even isolated the control curve so there was nothing for it to be connected to other than the joint.

I had the experience too. I know this is solved, but I still want to share. When this happened, make sure that the transform is not set to keyframe because what mine did was that, I set keyframes to them accidentally without knowing, so I deleted all the keyframes on translate x y z, then it worked. Try this next time. Hope it help. Thank you.
