Extrude problem

Hello everyone,

So I have an extruding problem that I'm not sure whats going on. Every time I extrude in Maya 2017, I don't get the adjustment icon that usually generates into the direction the faces are pointing too. I started fiddling around in option that I think might connect to this issue but I can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix this?

Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2017 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2017 to 2017_backup. Maya creates new folders. Detailed at:
