Export mesh with multiple UV sets, for use in Blender

Hello,

I have this rigged character here, and it has many UV sets, all corresponding to pieces I would like to texture paint individually in Blender. I cannot seem to export an FBX or OBJ that will carry all the UV sets. Is there any kind of workaround to this?

I am considering duplicating the file (so I don't destroy everything set up), separating the combined mesh, exporting each piece individually with its single UV hopefully intact.

FBX supports multiple uvSets. Just tested in Maya2019, exported and imported my FBX back - all fine.

Open your FBX in Maya, check if the sets are there.

I remember reading about the Blender being reverse-engineering the FBX, because it is Autodesk's proprietary format, therefore Blender might not support all the FBX features.

OBJ export/import in Maya supports just one UVset.

Idea-wise, you can export several scenes with each uvSet and transfer them inside the Blender.
