Duplicate Speical on Live Surface

I want to duplicate special on a live surface. I already have built a half of the character and I want to mirror over some parts such as the pec and the stomach so I can speed up the retopology process. But how do I use Duplicate special on a live surface? Thanks in advance.

Green: Where I want the mirror to be

Blue: Area I want to mirror

You can use Duplicate Special or Mirror, but it will ignore the Live Surface.
