Convert a closed cv curve to a poligon mesh

That all , i want to know how to convert this closed curve , to a poligon, i've tried planar but it creates an empty object

Forgive me if this is a silly question...but are you sure you're not in wireframe mode?  Hit the '5' or '6' key just to make sure.

The curve has to be planar to use planar. Make sure all of the curve control vertex's are in the same plane!

Good point.  For some reason, planar curves in a perspective view always look non-planar to me, so I assumed the curve was planar...and we all know what "assume" does.
